Selecting a Power Lift Recliner for your Size
Our power lift recliners come in several sizes — from petite to very heavy duty. The smallest chairs are made for people under 5 feet 3 inches and the largest are for people who are 6 feet 1 inch tall and above. You might assume a big spacious chair would be good for everyone. It turns out, Goldilocks was onto something: there is a perfect chair for everyone.
Pride Mobility Power Lift Recliners are designed so that your feet hang over the end when reclined. With your heel resting beyond the footrest, the weight of your legs is on the back of your calves. If your heels are sitting on the footrest, all the weight is on the heel. This eventually gets uncomfortable.
Many of our recliners have three-inch foot extensions. This added piece sits below the end of the footrest. The foot extender allows your weight to distribute across both legs, while giving your feet support and comfort.
VivaLift! Radiance – PLR-3955LT
The VivaLift! Radiance – PLR-3955LT is designed for users who are 6 feet and taller. It has a 400-pound weight capacity. The top of the seat back is 31 inches from the ground. The power lift recliner has VivaLift! infinite positioning, allowing for a completely customizable rest. The Radiance Collection is the first in its class to offer three heating pads. Find your perfect position and then turn the heat on for your shoulders, lumbar and seat.
VivaLift! Elegance – PLR-975L
The VivaLift! Elegance – PLR-975L was artfully designed to be the centerpiece of your living room. It’s hard to believe, but the Elegance is as comfortable as it is beautiful. It has a power headrest, backrest and footrest and a footrest extension. This recliner is suitable for any one over 5 feet 10 inches, with a maximum weight of 400 pounds.
VivaLift! Escape – PLR-990
Kick back and relax in the VivaLift! Escape – PLR-990. This model is made for people taller than 5 feet 10 inches. The footrest extension lets you comfortably stretch out, while the full-width power headrest lifts your head, neck and shoulders. It also comes with the industry-first lithium battery backup, ensuring you can still move the recliner if the power goes out
VivaLift! Tranquil – PLR-935-LT
The VivaLift! Tranquil – PLR-935-LT stands out in a crowd with its elegant faux leather upholstery. This showstopper has independent head, shoulder and lower back support. You can increase the lumbar support, even while sitting straight up. The large Tranquil Collection chair has a footrest extension and suits people 5 feet 10 inches and taller.
VivaLift! Urbana – PLR-965
The large VivaLift! Urbana – PLR-965 is made for people 5 feet 10 inches and taller. It has a lovely, contemporary style that fits right in to a well-appointed room. You can fully recline with the infinite, lay-flat positioning.
VivaLift! Legacy – PLR-958L
The VivaLift! Legacy – PLR-958L has a power backrest, power lumbar support and power headrest. The easy-to-use, soft-touch buttons will transport your 5-feet-10-inch (or taller) frame into the perfect relaxation setting. The footrest extension ensures that your weight is comfortably distributed.
Heritage Collection
Our Heritage Collection – LC-358 recliner is classic and classy. This collection has a full range of sizes and weight capacities that are all completely customizable with gorgeous fabrics and functional accessories.
Heritage Collection LC-358L, known as the large model, has a suggested height range between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet. The large Heritage recliner has a 375-pound weight limit with a 22-inch-wide seat.
LC-358L comes with a three-inch foot extension for added length. The bigger models do not have foot extensions, but are comfortable for people between 5 foot 8 inches and 6 feet 1 inch.
The heavy duty model LC-358XL has a 26-inch wide seat and 500-pound weight capacity. The very heavy duty LC-358XXL has a 30-inch-wide seat and a 600-pound capacity.

So in my younger life I was blessed with a tall, near 6’4″, large frame but short 31″ inseam and always heavy, 235 now but was over 300 for years and 81 years old now. For these reasons I have always been sensitive to size requirements. Ater searching the net I chose Pride after past experience with their wheelchair products. I was apprenhensive but my fears were not needed. I received my Vivalift Radience LT and the delivery even helped unbox it and get it inside, a major assistance. It fullfilled the advertisement claims and then some. It actually could have been a little smaller but no size problems. I sleep on it a lot and there have been no problems or diffiencies. Matr of fact we had a major electrical storm where I lost electronic devices and power out for hours. The chair did not malfunction, great backup. Only suggestion to new owner, the chair needs over 20 inches from wall, quite a bit of distance. I am well satisfied with a quality product and know parts are available.
