In this edition, we’re introducing you to Barbara!
Q: How long have you been employed at Pride and in your current role?
BARBARA: I have been in the Consumer Call Center for over seven years now. This is an amazing group of coworkers. I have seen some of us move to other departments and even some retire. We are truly a Family in this department!

Q: What brought you to Pride?
BARBARA: My daughter-in-law suggested working for Pride Mobility. A family friend of hers said it was a great place to work, and she wasn’t wrong! Since I was young, I have lived in [northeastern Pennsylvania]. Pride Mobility is a pillar of business in this area and has strong community involvement. I wanted to be part of such a business that cares and appreciates its employees.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your role?
BARBARA: I have always been in Customer Service, working in many different aspects from bank teller to cashier to sales and even supervisor positions. But I’ve been always working to help people. Pride Mobility is in that business of helping people which is such a rewarding job.
Q: Do you have a memorable story of working with a consumer that sticks out to you and why?
BARBARA: There are quite a few times you just say to yourself, “This is why I love my job!” There aren’t many people that can say that. But when you have a consumer, and her husband makes a special call back to you to say how this product has changed their lives and can even hear the tears in their voice — there just isn’t any way to describe that feeling of warmth in your heart at this accomplishment. My supervisor even shared this message
with our CEO who took the time to thank me! You can’t beat that for a HIGH! Talk about feeling appreciated!
Q: What do you like to do for fun? Any interests or hobbies?
BARBARA: I have three beautiful grandchildren (ages 3, 4 &18 months) from my son and daughter. I spend a lot of time enjoying adventures with them, which takes up most of my free time! But I also enjoy making many different crafts, primarily wreaths, along with painting, jewelry, even playing with clay. I am a versatile crafty person, and artistic ability runs in my family. My older brother recently retired from being a commercial artist and my father was an architect that made 3D models of his buildings. As a family, we used to hand-make over 100 foldout 3-dimensional Christmas cards that were either a 3-D mantel Christmas decoration or a 3-D ornament for their tree each year for years. His designs were pretty ingenious to get them to fold in an envelope and are fond memories for us all.
