Following a months-long nationwide search, Pride Mobility® is excited to welcome two new members to its diverse team of brand advocates.

Chris Carrino and Brooke Slick have been named winners of the Pride Roll Model contest and will represent the company as Pride Roll Models. The contest attracted nearly 100 applicants from across the United States.

Each winner will receive a three-month paid Pride Roll Model agreement and their choice of a Jazzy® Carbon power wheelchair or Go Go® Travel Mobility series scooter.
Stephanie Woodward, Brand Ambassador Coordinator at Pride Mobility, expressed her enthusiasm for the newest additions to the team. She emphasized, “We are thrilled to welcome Chris and Brooke to the Pride family. This nationwide search has brought us two outstanding individuals who not only embrace the capabilities of our products but also share our commitment to fostering connection and inclusivity.

“We believe in the power of authentic voices, and as Pride Roll Models, Chris and Brooke will play a crucial role in showcasing the transformative impact of Pride products. Their experiences will be shared through social media, blogs, and various outlets, showing others how they embrace a life full of possibilities,” Stephanie concluded.

Chris is originally from Yonkers, New York and is a sports broadcaster with a wide range of professional experience. Most notably, he is the radio play-by-play voice of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets, a position he’s held since 2002 and can be heard around the country calling NFL games for Compass Media Networks.

Chris has a type of muscular dystrophy called FSHD, a genetic disorder that leads to progressive muscle weakness and decreased functional capacity. He was diagnosed while attending Fordham University, from which he graduated in 1992. Eventually, Chris relied on the Jazzy Carbon to help him navigate his professional environments.

“Using a mobility device was once my greatest fear, and I spent years trying to outrun the chair,” Chris said. “But what I realized was that these devices aren’t made to separate us from the world, rather, they are made to connect us to it. Showing this to the disability community is what I hope to accomplish by being a Pride Roll Model.”

Chris established the Chris Carrino Foundation for FSHD in 2011, which is dedicated to the effort of eradicating the life-altering effects of the disease.
A native of New Enterprise, Pennsylvania, Brooke is a podcast host, blogger, and inventor. She is also a spirited advocate with multiple sclerosis, which Brooke has lived with for two decades.

When researching mobility devices that could help her navigate her property, Brooke was introduced to the Go Chair® power wheelchair, which she has described as a “game-changer.”

“I’m all about normalizing what mobility device use looks like in today’s world,” Brooke said. “I want to share all the different ways that potential users could be utilizing mobility devices to live a life that’s way bigger than they could have imagined.”

“I’m so grateful that as a Pride Roll Model, I’ll have the opportunity to bring some hope, independence, engagement, and joy into the lives of those who didn’t know what they were missing,” Brooke added.

As Pride Roll Models, Chris and Brooke will share their experiences with Pride products through social media, blogs, and other outlets. They will begin their roles with Pride upon receiving their new products.
