What About Batteries?

You can also verify with your insurance provider and dealer to see what the total cost will be for the power wheelchair, including your batteries. Replacement batteries are also available for purchase if you need them in the future. We recommend speaking with your insurance provider to see if it covers batteries and how much.
In Conclusion
Purchasing a power wheelchair is a major investment that you should be well educated on prior to finalizing your choice. The best thing to do is to speak with your insurance provider to determine if there is coverage and what your co-pay will be/ Ask about the accessories you may be interested in, and ensure that you are vetting out all of your options. Another great resource is to speak to your physician. Often times, during the process of purchasing a power wheelchair through Medicare and insurance, you need to have a physician do a face-to-face evaluation.
